Are you ready to go to ATM? Here are my tips to go to the bank.
Be prepared to bring the following items:
- Your State ID, e.g., Driver’s License, IDs, etc.
- You know how much you will going to withdrawal
- Your wallet
- Your jacket or your arms if you are going to cover up your personal bank statements and your bank account
When you arrived at the ATM, and when one person is using the ATM, stand back at least 6 feet around so you don’t end up with someone’s PIN Numbers and their bank account. Take a quick peek if one around is loitering, and if someone’s loitering or something is going on, go to different ATM.
When he or she’s gone, then you must check for any loiterers; if you didn’t see anyone is loitering, use your jacket or an arm to shied your PIN Number, so no one is going to see it. If this makes you uncomfortable, cancel your ATM account; take your card and go to another ATM that’s well lit and busy. It’s always advised you go with your roommate, a friend or your parent at night or avoid going to the ATM at night.
ATMs to avoid:
- Loiters hanging around
- Any uneasy locations or vandalized areas
- At night–It’s best to go with your parent, your roommate, or a friend
- Any isolated areas
*When you are finished with your ATM, always take your receipt with you. Do not leave your receipt in the trash can; other crooks/thieves tried to find your bank statement and open a fake bank account to make bogus purchases. You don’t want this to happen.*
Remember, always be careful when you are at the ATM and be aware that some things are uneasy. I recommended you bring a jacket to cover both your PIN Number and your bank account so one could see you have in your account. Make sure you stay close to the screen while you are doing it. Look for a person who stands behind you as he or she tried to retrieve banking information. If you feel uncomfortable, cancel the transaction, take your card, and go find different ATM. Always, takes your receipt with you and put it into your pocket instead of wallet for safety.
Scenario: Here’s what happened if you didn’t cover your PIN number and left your receipt.
Saying you are at the bank, you didn’t cover your PIN number as the crooks in the security camera overlooked (captured) at your PIN number. Then when you withdrawal some of the money, you see that you didn’t have much money left in your account, take your receipt and throw your statement away in the ATM trash can. Then the crooks looked over in the ATM trash can, and after you left the ATM, they picked up the receipt, make a bogus ATM card from the PIN number you didn’t cover for your personal safety. This can happen if you didn’t cover your PIN number and throw your bank statement in the trashcan in the ATM. Well, don’t; you must take your receipt with you, no matter how much or how little money in your account and when you are entering your PIN number, please, use your jacket to cover up both your privacy statement and your bank account.
