No more Hazardous Materials on-board!!! Retrieve from Risk Management Class Project!!!

Be careful what you bring, what you pack, and what you pick something to carry; otherwise, you are putting themselves and the public highly at risk. In most cases, people got caught relating to bring hazardous items on board for air travel.

Unfortunately, all Samsung Galaxy Note 7 phones banned on all airline flights including low-cost carriers. Passengers should stop bringing the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 phones on board; the news sources said last week. Now, Samsung Galaxy Note 7 phones will be no longer in production.

  • This avoidance is a loss prevention. Loss prevention will not guarantee to a risk of zero depending on how well risk prevention properly implemented. There are some assumptions when a loss prevention is a good strategy or a bad strategy.

Keep in mind: Some risks cannot be avoided so fire without warning, illness, and other weather related disasters are included.

Those passengers attempt to bring [Galaxy Note 7 phones] on board are denied boarding and face stiff fines. Even through you packed your phone in your bags or your luggage (carry-on or checked) and no matter if your phone is on or off, is completely forbidden to carry this device with you. Please, leave this phone at home and exchange another phone. I know I had been on the flight a lot and something went wrong: in-flight fire.

The DOT and FAA use risk control options to prevent this kind of future incidents: Avoidance. They use strategies to reduce both severely and frequently of the loss caused by fire.

What causes in-flight fire other than to bring this kind of phone? Leaving the overcharging phones on the clothes, in the pockets, or on the seat unattended.

Here is the problem:

Passengers had attempted to leave the phones charging unattended on the seats, clothes, or blanket without realizing they left there with smoke coming directly from the phone. It can catch fire because the static and lithium-ion battery can comprise together that causes them to overheat, which lithium-ion battery is flammable if not properly care and store in safe alternatives.

The safety cautious is to don’t ask strangers to watch your phones because sometimes, they can take your phone and access your sensitive information. Ask your family members, friends, or someone you trust to watch your phone. If you are traveling alone, it is best to take your phone with you. I keep them in a money belt every time I leave the seat. I asked passengers not to leave phones left unattended while charging, no matter what kind of phones they have because grave danger can occur without they realize it. I also warn travelers not to overcharge your phones under any circumstances because when you overcharge your phone, the lithium-ion battery can quickly overheat, rupture, and can catch fire. Don’t use the plane’s outlet to charge your phones. Laptop, portable chargers, mp3, and electronic devices other than phones can only be allowed to charge your devices. If you want to charge your phone, it is best to use your portable charger. The reason why I am writing a warning reminder to all travelers is that we have several risks associated with air travel incidents. This step-up strategy is a risk management alternative.

  • This avoidance is a loss reduction.

The fire is a peril and the phone left charging unattended covered in the blanket is a hazard.

I’m glad that my phone had not been recalled: Samsung S7 phone I am currently using since May 2016 (soon after I graduated from CCP). The good news: You can still allow bringing your phones other than Samsung Galaxy Note 7 on board without any additional restrictions.
