While some places’ COVID-19 cases are down treading, more travelers were planned to travel abroad once the global travel restrictions have lifted. Now, the Department of State has issued a country-specific travel risk for each country and territories. These changes make travelers make informed decisions on whether they can safely travel there. Unfortunately, the CDC has still advised against all non-essential travel due to health threat. I am writing to inform you more about your future travel, especially upcoming travelers who plan to go on vacation this year.
The previous travel level globally was Level 4, which was applied to all international travel to all countries for US citizens.
What does it mean for leisure travelers?
For leisure travelers, this travel category falls into non-essential travel, which carries additional travel restrictions, including quarantine, stay-at-home order, and lockdown.
As some countries have responded either better or worse in COVID-19, the health leaders and the government have still advised against all non-essential, especially if travelers have vacations coming up. Despite ongoing cases not just in the USA but around the world, travelers must take extreme precautions when traveling abroad.
Depending on where you are heading to, I suggest visiting the website: www.travel.state.gov for more information, register for the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program and keep in touch with the embassy.
My conclusion
I know that Global Travel Advisory is Level 4 for some parts of the country. I don’t want to travel abroad, especially my upcoming to Singapore late this year. Even though the travel restrictions have lifted doesn’t mean it is safe to go. I still have to wait until the pandemic is over, get a travel vaccine, and finally, my financial commitment is stable.
Update: This week, I invested my time and commitment to earn money through my work and internship to save more for my upcoming solo Singaporean Trip in 2021 or 2022 due to pandemic. You can see my finished I-Powers Travel Cycle for my upcoming to Singapore here.
