As I mentioned earlier from my blog, I invested more money into travel savings for my upcoming solo Singaporean trip. Because the COVID-19 cases aren’t improving, I moved my forthcoming trip from Fall 2021 to Spring to Fall 2022, just to be sure when the vaccine is available at the earliest.
Current status for COVID-19 vaccine:
- Vaccine for late 2020/early 2021 will only be available for essential workers, health care workers, and persons who recovered from COVID-19.
- More vaccine production will in progress if the vaccine trial goes well and are federally approved.
- The vaccine to the general public may take several months from 2021 until 2024.
While heaping up my upcoming solo trips, my priority is to get a COVID-19 vaccine and up-to-date immunization.
Why 2021 may not be the best year to travel?
I think that in 2021, it is too early when people are protected from getting a COVID-19 and/or flu. The vaccine will still be unavailable to the general public and may take a considerable effort to mass up the productions and certifications before sending them to the public.
It takes a while from start to finish, which is a preliminary goal to the public. In 2021, I predict that some people haven’t got a COVID-19 vaccine, so everyone needs to get protected from the deadly virus, which claimed more than a 760,000 deaths worldwide.
In conclusion, it is okay to replan your upcoming trip to protect yourself and the public. This year, lots of upcoming travelers opted for a savings of money in place of traveling mainly because of the recent spike in COVID-19 cases. Most travelers are gravely afraid to travel this year amid pandemic and waited for a vaccine. My conclusion was right; I tend to save up more money for traveling instead of traveling to Singapore this Fall (which have been postponed).
The travel can wait.
